This is a highly recommended upgrade due to the numerous fixes and new features, including:
- Improved parameters for optimal staking (transaction sizes are automatically kept between 1.5m-2m RDD)
- New official DNS seeds in Asia and Europe
- New RPC call getinterest to show interests received through minting
- Fixes for improved stability
To upgrade, just install the new wallet. There is no need to touch local blockchain files.
This is the first public release of Reddcoin Electrum wallets for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. Reddcoin Electrum mobile wallets are being actively developed and will be announced in due course.
These SPV wallets don’t support staking yet, something we are working on. They do offer many significant benefits over traditional full-chain wallets. I highly recommend you all to try them out, if only to get a taste of what’s coming in the future.
On Windows and Mac OS X, there are compiled binaries for download. On Linux, you can install with: sudo pip install reddcoin-electrum
- One-million-Reddcoin icon design contest
We are holding a design contest for all the icons used in Reddcoin Electrum wallets. The icon files we are looking to replace can be found here . The contest will last until 19th October and finish with voting by community. The winner will be awarded one million Reddcoins. Valid entries must include a set of files that match exactly the format of existing icon files and one EPS vector file for all.
